Who is it for?
First pregnancy over the age of 35, multiple pregnancy, chronic diseases, or losses and complications in previous pregnancies.
Risks?
A high-risk pregnancy is not a reason for fear — with the right plan and close supervision, the vast majority of these pregnancies end in a healthy birth.
Which situations require close supervision?
- Threatened preterm birth or a previous early delivery
- Excess or insufficient amniotic fluid, multiple pregnancy
- The mother's chronic diseases: diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders
- Losses, complications or cesarean section in previous pregnancies
Treatment approach
An individual examination schedule is set up, fetal development is tracked with dynamic ultrasound, hospitalization decisions are made in time when needed, and the method and timing of delivery are planned according to the risks. In high-risk pregnancy, vaginal birth is possible in many cases — the decision is based on the specific risk and the situation at the time of delivery, not on a verdict issued in advance.
