Infertility Treatment
If pregnancy does not occur despite a year of regular attempts (six months for women over 35), that is reason enough to start an evaluation. Infertility is not a verdict — it is a medical condition whose cause must be found. I do not sell hope, I build a plan: once the cause is found, the road map becomes clear.
What is it?
Investigation of why pregnancy is not occurring in both partners, and treatment directed at the cause — from hormonal correction to surgery and referral for IVF.
Who is it for?
For couples in whom pregnancy has not occurred after 1 year (6 months after age 35) of regular attempts; earlier if there are menstrual irregularities.
Risks?
The male factor is involved in a significant share of infertility cases — evaluating only the woman is the mistake that wastes the most time.
The most common causes
- Absence of ovulation — hormonal disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome
- Blocked fallopian tubes — the result of past infections and inflammation
- Endometriosis and uterine factors (submucosal fibroid, polyp, adhesions)
- Male factor — sperm count and quality
Treatment approach
The evaluation is done as a couple. For the woman: hormonal panel, ultrasound and follicle tracking, tubal patency testing, laparoscopy when indicated. For the man: a semen analysis — a simple but often forgotten first step. Depending on the cause, treatment includes hormonal therapy, surgical correction, or preparation and support for assisted reproductive technologies (IVF). IVF pregnancies are later followed with special attention under the high-risk pregnancy protocol.
